>Oh this thread was great help to me too!! Once I migrate my current FP 2.6 Report System into a Client-Server version I need to do the same thing, access data from a Unix box. Any idea where I go/look to find an ODBC Driver for Informix? And anything different for me to consider with a NT 4.0 enterprise network instead of Novell? TIA

There is a company called Intersolv (may try something like www.intersolv.com) for the ODBC drivers. ODBC drivers, SQL*Net, etc., are typically back-end platform independent. You just need the right ODBC drivers for the database running on that platform. It is up to the database administrator to have the listener (server) version of SQL*Net running on the server platform.

If Oracle is the database engine, all you need are the client-side ODBC drivers for Oracle7 (or Oracle8). You will need, from Oracle, the products for your particular client (ODBC, SQL*Net, etc.). Oracle has a products for Windows 3.x, 95 and NT for the client. And they are proud ($) of their products. Larry Elli$on is trying to outrun Bill Gate$.
