Though I am still doing much VFP work it has been about a year that I have started a new project using VFP. VFP has become hard to sell. Apart from a little ASP all my new projects have been in VB. VB6 is a good product, equivalent to VFP in most things, better in a few and pretty bad in some areas where VFP is strong. Eg. If you need to grab data from a remote server, do a fair bit of complex thing to it and send it back, VFP is a very good choice to do this work. The ability to effeciently manipulate data in text files, and even things like macro substitution that we take for granted in VFP is not as easily done elsewhere. These and other things make VFP a good choice for data-centric business abjects.
