Randy,
Hmm.. I'll try that approach - removing the API calls.
I'm here at home and I fi\gure tomorrow to get a little time to goof around with this. I'm trying to see what might be causing this to happen in some cases (mine) and not others (you, GT, etc)...
Best,
DD
>You know, I had the very same question a few weeks ago. I set all the properties of my form as the documentation directs, yet when it opened up it would never have focues. I posted the question on the ms vfp form newsgroup and the only workable solution I got was George's. Somewhere in my playing around decided to try putting SCREEN=OFF in my config.fpw. Lo and behold, this worked, without calling the API to set focus. It's worked consistently now for about a week as I work further on the app, also through many reboots, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't a fluke. I'm at a loss to understand why it doesn't work for everyone. The question of OS version was rasied, but I'm running 98SE on my development desktop, so it's not a 2000 vs 98 issue. I'm also using VFP 6.0 SP3. This is definitely an odd one...

A man is no fool who gives up that which he cannot keep for that which he cannot lose.
Everything I don't understand must be easy!
The difficulty of any task is measured by the capacity of the agent performing the work.
