MAPI shouldn't require Outlook, any Simple Mapi Client should work, thats its whole purpose.

The MAPI apps I've written in VFP used Windows Messaging/Inbox and Outlook Express.

Check out a string of articles by Doug Hennig in recent FoxTalks about the MSMAPI32.ocx, I don't know if he covered Receiveing or not though.
