Mike,

Thanks for the reply. I have a sinking feeling that this may be a lost cause. Can you remember what avenues you were trying in order to grab the bytes that had come in at any given moment? I hate to throw away the time that I've spent getting the whole "Live Update" thing working just to abandone it for lack of a progress bar. wwIPStuff is Marcus Egar's I believe. If he is in town, I should be seeing him on the 12th and I guess I could ask him at that time but chances are he is in Hawaii, Greece, or presenting at a conference somewhere in the world <g> and then there is the point of asking a professional that is trying to sell a product how he did it although I'm sure Markus whould be more than willing to go into detail.

I have a feeling, however, that, as has been the case in the past, I will need to go to the Windows .dll for full functionality. In this case WinInet.dll. I hate to go through this learning curve just for a progress bar.

If you can remember what areas of InetCtrls your were attempting to use for a progress bar, let me know. It might save me a bunch time going down blind alleys. Thanks again for letting me bounce this off of you.

Sorry for rambling.

Ed
