I love when morons like that bash VFP. While they're struggling to do hard core data apps with VB or better yet, C++, we're whipping off applications, getting praise from clients, and sometimes putting those knuckleheads out of a job. It constantly amazes me - oh, what they don't know! I remember when I had the epiphany - all it takes is one try writing an application in C and then moving to VFP. I kind of feel sorry for them. While they're struggling to get one app out the door, many VFPers are struggling to remember how to debug one of the ten apps they got out over the last couple of years. Let 'em laugh! More work for us! Sometimes I think that VFP is my dirty little secret. And it's far from dirty!

>I started a training class in ASP development this morning being given on site here at work. As a way to get started, the instructor asked everyone to state their current programming skills. When my turn came around, of course I mentioned that I was a Visual FoxPro developer. Before I could mention anything else the instructor said
>"Do they actually pay you for that?"
>Of course, everyone laughed (me being one of two VFPers in the room) thinking the instructor was making a joke. I thought he was making a joke (albeit a lame one) as well until I looked up and noticed he was very serious and was sincerely interested in the answer.
>My reply was "Yes, they pay me. Do they actually pay ASP instructors?".

>I thought this was a perfect example the level of ignorance out there in regards to VFP (but I'm sure we've all been there).

>Guess the persecution will never end!
