Good Morning Walter;

>The official documents about the RM haven't changed much since the last 15 or so,

Seems like Codd added about 70 additional “Rules” within the last five years to his original 12. At least that is what I read in his book on the subject. Many of these “changes” were very different than his original concepts. In reality, getting beyond the third order may not be worth the effort in the majority of cases. The additional “Rules” defined by Codd have little value to the real world and seem best placed within the academic field, as are 95% of the OOP concepts of Grady Booch.

>Saying that we break the Primary and Candidate rules is like saying that we cannot work on sunday because god says so.... I does not make sense.

I am sure you realize there are people of faith in the world who do not work on the Sabbath – which may not always fall on Sunday.

Being a purist may not always get the job done but does allow for theoretical argument. Seems like being a purist may be a bit like that person who does not work on the Sabbath. It may not seem practical to some but has value to the participant.

Tom
