MSDE, good point.
(And for what its worth, I start to side track here for some reason...)
Though, I'm as afraid of that as all other free MS products. You know, get you the first gram or so free to get you hooked. Nothing says that they can't change MSDE prices or take away essential functinality to get some cash out of you. Now you've got all these apps based on a previously free technology that needs to be updated.
Beleive it or not, thats why I don't use IE functinality in my apps. Well, yes it is free, but when Netscape completely dissapears, who says it has to be? I don't want my users to get caught in that. (Call us paraniod)
And MS has done it before, rememebr how Scheduler was in Win 3.1, until everyone used that instead of the competeing one? Then once the competitor was gone, they excluded it from the next windows and charged you for the upgrade.
