It ain't exactly a piece of cake in C++, either. Oh, sure, just call CreateThread() and point it to the address of your start routine, right? Easy enough for trivial projects, but the complexity shoots up rapidly for non-trivial code.

I would tend to agree. There's a vast distance between changing a selection in an option group in the BUILD dialog and writing the code yourself.
