Stonefield. It is in all my VFP apps, and the users can reindex, repair, validate, pack anytime they want. All I tell them is if you know a particular exists but does not show up in a sorted view, then re-index. If it is still missing, the record was probably deleted. If they get real insistent, then they can call me, and I will look at the raw data to see if there is a bigger problem.
