I've got tenths of VFP systems running for over a few years, and only have discovered 1 index break in 2 years (VFP5 app). I tend to believe index corruption is rare when:
1. Using a stable network (prefferable not Novell)
2. Use buffering and transactions for your updates.
3. If the system is used my multiple users, even a workstation powerfailure rarely causes any problems (Because opportunistic locking is turned off).
That said, i think 95% - 99% of the index corruptions belongs to the past. VFP 6 is far more stable than the old xBase apps...
