Jeff,
>Naw, I think John is right here. I saw alot of end-users use dBase over the years, but rarely FoxPro.

>Bottom line is that VFP should have been specified instead of Office/Access. No matter which way you cut it, this is just another slap in our face.

>This is why I am looking forward to the evolution of robust Linux dev tools - they WILL come and developers won't get slapped around. To be dependent on one company's technologies is nothing short of being foolish in our industry in the first place.
If MS is split up, it will probably be MS tools. Then within a short time we're stuck with the same problem. Keep in mind that MS marteting mechanism is very strong, and it is only intended to make money. It does not care about quality is cares about quantity and high prices.
MikeH made a statement that MS is the drugdealer of softwareland. It gives something for free, and when you're dependend on it, it is time to earn loads of money......
Walter,
>>>I am sorry, but I don't get it. Isn't the end-user of Fox a software developer? Where on the website does it make a distinction between developer/end user? How did you come to this conclusion?

>>I think he means they were database users writing apps for their own use. Not so with the average VB/VFP developer. We do software for a living, not data entry.
