Sorry, John, I'm not a consultant and I don't write custom apps, so I'm not sure I asked my question right.

Say you had to write a Database app from scratch. No other given factors (multi-user, desktop/distributed, shrink wrapped/custom, data size), just form scratch, when would it be a VFP app?
