I left a 1040STf at home in perfectly usable shape (best mouse I ever had). Yes, it had MIDI right away, no adaptors, no extra hardware, just standard DIN 5-5 cables, plug'n'play. And the CuBase (best sequencer ever) was written for Atari first, and only several years later it got moved to Windows.
