VFP will continue to survive for several years to come. It is important to note that the market will continue to decline as it has been declining. Declining markets mean dying markets. And tools in dying markets die themselves.

No, the issue of causation comes to mind. Is MS causing the market to decline, and thus, causing VFP to die???? I will leave it to you to answer....

>>>Well with all due respect, who cares where VFP fits in this world?

>>You should. As the current public perception of the tool progresses, it will become more and more marginalized. Declining markets die. And the tools within them die as well.

>I have a question about this. Do you have any thoughts or guesses about how Microsoft will kill VFP? The option of providing VFP developers a painless way to migrate to VB seems to be diminishing as the rest of Visual Studio moves away from VFP. I can't think of examples in the past of MS sunsetting one of their products. Might they announce some time next year that version 7 will be the last?
