You can install the client tools on another machine and administer your server over a LAN or even possibly over the internet (I can access our SQL Server through the Enterprise Manager from one location away from our office, but not from at home). I think you can also use Access 2000 to do a lot of SQL Server stuff. Then there's always just sending SQL commands from any client that can connect. Pretty much everthing that you can do in the enterprise manager can be done with SQL commands and system stored procedures.
