I found the problem but I don't know how to find the solution. I have a couple of HP4050 laser printers on a local network. One of these is my default printer which is used by the report designer as the default. Apparently, VFP6 does not like this printer. If I set the default printer to some other printer, run the report designer, and rebuild my application everything is OK. But if I try to change the printer to one of the HP4050 printers I can print the reports BUT opening data forms after this locks up the app and I have to reboot. Very strange.
