David Stevenson was going to post some relevant snips from the MS website that highlight the fact that MSDE is NOT SQL Server, but rather, is compatible. Again, for the most part, it is semantics. In this case however, MS does go the extra yard to make the clarfication.

I suppose it is a matter of what lengths one goes to be as correct as possible -to not treat a topic superficially..

That's totally opposite of everything I've read and been told about MSDE, including many people from MS. I don't think it's worth arguing about. In my coding I can treat it like SQL Server.
