The majority of the concern here was about where this company got its list. It was believed that it came from FPA. The content itself was fairly boring.

Of course there are whiners in the VFP camp, just as there are in the VB and Java camps. How nice of you to point it out. There are also liars, thieves and murderers in every group. You can choose to focus on them, or you can look beyond that to all the benefits a community offers.

I would go on record saying that some of the VB illuminati are the rudest, most arrogant and, apart from their own particular and very small sphere of expertise, among the most ignorant people I have ever had the "pleasure" of dealing with. The VB features they fight about so ferociously are soon buried beneath the sands of time every eighteen months when the paradigm has to change again, a tale of sound and fury signifying nothing. Getting past the deliberate rudeness I feel a profound sense of sympathy for so much talent so wasted. It appears that the "norm" among some VB MVPs is a campaign of flaming and fury to stomp down others and promote themselves fiercely to hold their position at the top. Contrast that with VFP MVPs. I know which community I prefer.

Before you bite, no I am not referring to you specifically in the above.

As for your facts; well, there are lots of ways to present facts. You can present them to help people or you can present them to confront and frighten people.

Fact: You will die.
Fact: being a young male, at this point you are most likely to die in an accident (which will probably be painful) or of testicular cancer.
Fact: If you survive the above and grow old, you will almost certainly die with prostate cancer. You won't enjoy that. If you get started on oestrogen (female hormone) to control it you may grow breasts.
Fact: If your mother is still alive she probably has a 1 in 8 chance of getting breast cancer before she too dies.

These are all facts- but presented cruelly and in such a way that there is probably "somebody" out there who could be hurt. QED.
