I think what Erik is getting at is that once you tie forms together in a formset, you are limited in using those forms in any other manner outside of that formset.
Lets say you have a dataentry form and a lookup form in your formset. Later you decide that the lookup form could be applied to other situations in the app. Tough; you will have to recreate it as a form class outside of the formset.
