Oh, sorry; I thought you were looking to roll your own, and QueryModifyFile() would certainly be suitable for that. However, if you currently have no source control in use, you would correctly get no results with the above.

No, VFP is compatible with many source control programs other than Visual Source Safe. The problem is, I conveniently can't remember what any of the others are. :-) Seriously, I'd be more than willing to point you to a non-Microsoft solution, but when you live in the ivory tower, you kind of forget about anything on the outside.
Check around, though. I'm pretty sure that if it works with VS, it should work with VFP (sorry, haven't actually tested). The reason being is that I fuzzily recollect that there is a standard SCC API that allows various SCC programs to hook in a standard manner.
