>I don't know the answers. But I would like to ask you a question. I am interested in writing an application by using VFP 5 to display Chinese characters. What components do I need for a VFP 5 application in Chinese?

First, find out if the client requires Simplified (PRC) characters or Traditional (Taiwan) characters. Make sure whichever of the following you choose supports this character set.

You need either a chinese capable version of win95 or winNT, or a third party product like Twinbridge (installs chinese character support for us windows).

If your app will use more than one language for interface text (menus, captions, etc.), I strongly recommend Steven Black's INTL Toolkit.

We currently have apps in English, Russian, Simplified Chinese (PRC). We will soon add French, Spanish and, possibly Norwegian.

Working with translators can be a problem. Every time you add or change text, you must get new translations for all supported languages.
