First, thanks to y'all (am I learning local speak, eh?) who responded - nice to see the good spirit being alive and kickin (more local speak).

Missing from home? Hmmm, a few things (laugh if you will):
- kajmak (read as kye-muck) - which is like cream but skimmed off boiled milk, somewhat salted and left to ferment a little. Doesn't exist here.
- non-fixed showers, the so-called "phone" showers that you can move around. It made washing off the lather after shaving so easy, and it's more of a "don't gain weight" exercise here :)
- human sized environment, where walking to nearby places makes sense; this is all car-sized here; if you want to walk or ride a bike, you first get into a car and drive somewhere to do it.
- people with a compatible sense of humor - only about 30% of jokes is transferrable

Above all, of course, I miss the people; out of the couple of thousand I probably know there, I'm actually missing only a few hundred. Still, Internet brings us all closer, and I'm often in touch with them.

Though, more often than not, the news I'm getting from there are bad or worse (Check the link in my signature - you'll see).

OK, let's not get too non-technical here... any attempt on firing up my nostalgy may end up in eventual destruction of my home brandy reserves :)

Balkans, eh? Count them.
