I didn't get any response to my question so I assume no one has encountered the problem or maybe, like may other VFP printer issues there just are no real answers.

However as a work around to this problem, I wrote a prg that pre-formats data into multi columns and writes each line to a temporary cursor. Therefor the report is printed as a 1 column report (window page setup etc.) It's simple, fast and easy to use.

I will be happy to share it with anyone who is having problems printing multi-columns with a dot matrix printer.

At present the code will only format data for use with mono-space fonts but I will be working on code to justify the columns with a proportional font.
