I have a copy of Office 2k Standard that came with my Dell. In order to use it, I had to register. Otherwise, and office program would just exit instead of run.
Recently I reinstalled everything on this machine, and when I went to use office, it once again forced me to register, but when I tried, it wouldn't work because I had already registered it. It gave me a number to call at MS and asked for a confirmation number from the call.
They told me that every time I reinstall this software I am going to have to call them for a new confirmation number. What kind of crap is that? I own the license for that copy. I am not trying to abuse that license. Why should I have to call them to use a product which I paid for?
