The timer is an object that can be set to fire at any time you want it too by setting the length of time in the interval property. You can have the timer check periodically for a keypress or mouse movement or some other method you choose. In the Timer Event Method place code to shut down your app when the appropiate actions are triggered (or not triggered in this instance). The advantage of using a timer is that the timer will run in the background while other processes are taking place.

I am probably missing something but I dont understand when the timer would fire and how would it know whether there has been any user activity or not??
