No. In VFP ID will be appropriate to the record where MIN value found. Its not an omission in SQL for VFP. It such strenth of VFP SQL. And this works always because physical structure of VFP tables. Maybe because SQL Server have completely another internal structure, in many cases it cannot process table 'record by record', like VFP does.

>The point is this: If you don't GROUP BY category and id, the ID you get back is meaningless, since it will be the last ID in the table - which will not necessarily be an id that goes with the MIN() value.
