I don't see that at all. We own Oracle stock and have absolutely no problem recommending its use if it is called for. Besides, what we do own is less than a drop in the bucket compared to the total number of shares, and our zone of influence with respect to potential customers would have negligible impact on the performance of their stock. The same could be applied to any stock we own.

Conflict of interest would be owning stock in a company where you have personal involvement in the regulation of that company. An example would be if I owned a significant percentage of a taxi cab company and also held a position on the City council where that cab company is applying for a certification of operation. As a part-owner of that company, I have a confilct of interest with respect to my voting position on the city council. So I would have to remove myself from the debate, decisions and voting on that issue.
