If you are not going to do any development on the site - it should not matter what flavor of OS they are running. Also, you will find that the ones running on Linux, etc are much more reasonable.
I use one that is very inexpensive, but they have a lot of nice features, and they are fairly stable (
www.digitalspace.net). Unlimited POP's, Forwarders, Sub-Domains, etc.
