>By the lake? (if I remember Chicago at all)
About five or six blocks from there (Blackstone Ave.). Hyde Park. Home of the University of Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry. Of course, since about 90% of the eastern border of Chicago is the lake, unless you're on the far south side (Hegewisch) you're near the lake.< g >
>So how did a city boy get to Cartersville and did you have some real adjustment?
My late Mother-in-law coerced my wife and I. There was a business opportunity that she had taken advantage of (late 1970s) here and moved from Hoffman Estates, IL. She bought the business and talked us into coming down and working it. Unfortunately, the business went under in 1986, and I got a job at Shaw.
Some folks will tell you I still haven't adjusted. Kind of a corollary to an old saying, "You can take the boy out of the inner city, but you can't take the inner city out of the boy.":-)
