No, I don't need what is in ODBC.
When you run many of SQL Server tool, they prompt you to select SQL Server. It is usually combo box with list of all SQL Servers installed on computers all over the local network. Enterprise Manager application show all these SQL servers in the tree and you can connect to any of these servers.
How to get list of these servers in network?
>I'm not sure if this is what you're asking, but if you're asking what ODBC links are setup you can select the ODBC data sources from the registry that link to SQL Server, or scan ODBC.ini file, also looking for SQL Server.

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs
It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
