Wow! I've been away for too long. I had no idea the venomn and paranoia that this topic brings up.

For what it's worth, I KNOW that VFP is not always the best tool and that for my situation in particular, a data server WILL be necessary.

I never took offese to what my guy said about questioning VFP. Although VFP is my principle developing platform, I've used others and I'm not afraid: programming is programming as for as I'm concerned.

In the meantime, I'm glad that, in the end, cooler heads shall prevail. I think we should all be working towards cooperating and helping each other out. Some of us are whiners, yes, but certainly not most of us. Some of us are arrogant, absolutely, myabe even most of us. That's what makes us good developers.

Thanks for the info to all who responded. Hopefully I'll convince him that VFP should have a larger role than he's imagining.

Until then, chill out, have a beer or a glass of wine, write some good code and smile! After all it's only programming. I spent 25 days in the hospital with my son this summer. Watching him run around healthy is the best thing I can experience. There are priorities.. and then there are priorities.
