I'm far away if beeing an network expert. I think it's a problem
of name resolution. Try the following:

If you dont have a lmhosts file create one with a single line entry like

127.0.0.1 localhost

The file should reside in the ..\System32\drivers\etc folder I think.
Check in the DNS pad of the network settings, that lmhost import is marked
and reboot then.

Maybe it works after this.
