Maybe I lead you just to the wrong side. It's true, that the URL or better it's domain name part is the representation of a numeric adress. But that seems not to be the problem. If the www-class doesn't work that way, then look in the network settings of your computer, what's the name of your machine and try it like
HTTP://myWS/ .....
This leads me here to my local IIS also.
