If you need only 2 programmers to work with project - this is not a reason to install Source Safe. 4-5 programmers - strating point.
Source Safe is a special server application that allow you to store all source codes of application on the server and control changes over time. Programmers should check out file before work to assure noone else changes this file. Than check in after changes. Option 'Get latest version' allows to download all latest changes.
By such way many programmers may work on the same project without risk to overwrite someone's changes. This also allows to track changes and prepare reports, for example, changes list.
VFP have built in tools to work with Source Safe application. However, it somewhat confusing and difficult to work with VFP project files under Source Safe.
There are many Source Safe server application, but you may try to use MS Source Safe for the first time.
