>>C# as far as I've heard from more objective sources is just C++ with alot more over head.

C# is a sweetheart of a programming language! Its C++ sans manual garbadge collection, multiple inheritance, pointers etc. Doing some work with the tech preview and am very impressed by the results I'm getting. As for data access, I'm still evaluating ADO+, so its too early to tell whether its as flexible as VFP in this regard. If not, I was thinking of replacing ADO+ with VFP data access objects which will run outside the .NET environment in unmanaged mode.

As much as I hate to say it, I'm finally starting to encounter some resistance to VFP as we bring in new customers. They think it totally 'old school'! In the future, I predict I'll be using VFP for data access and some data stores and C# for everything else. When they ask what language its in, I'll just say C# and not mention the VFP stuff.
