>>When is c# scheduled to be released for real - do you know?
I don't know for sure. The last I heard was about this time next year.
>>How is the performance?
Haven't gotten that far into it to know for sure. So far all I have is a form with a few controls on it connecting to SQL Server. There appears to be a long delay when the program starts for the first time, but subsequent restarts are much faster. Looking forward to getting into it deeper. Just got my first book on C# a couple of weeks ago (C#, availabe from Sams publishing)
>>How easy will it be for an experienced VFP programmer that has a strong grasp of OOP, biz obj, delegation, etc - but with little C/C++ experience - to make the move?
Same here! I have very little experience with C++, just some reading in the past to get the general idea. However, C# seems pretty straight forward. All you need to work with it is Notepad! You can get a code editor if you want more. I'm using Antechinus from C-Point. They are at
www.c-point.com if your looking for a C# editor.
