Thats what WinForms is all about and its in the tech preview if you want to try it out. However, for learning purposes, I believe its better to stick with a code editor for now.

Also, I forgot to mention that the CLR may cause some lockups on your machine. If it happens, kill explorer.exe then restart the task. If it starts to interfere with your work, just install the CLR then uninstall when your done working. It doesn't take that long.
