Instead of abandoning it, why don't you release the source code under the GPL and let those who wish to continue developing it? You don't have to offer support. Your product continues to live. All you have to do is have someone manage the source code so there aren't 50 different versions floating around and so that someone doesn't break it, and give people credit for their patches in the comments.
