Hi,

I have a new client that may be needing some Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) decoding in an application I'm starting to spec out. What they would like to do is type in the VIN and automatically determine if the vehicle is Turbo/supercharged, twin turbo, 4-WD, Diesel, 1 ton, 4 wheel steering. They are only looking at vehicles 1980 and newer.

From what I've seen so far, this looks like it could be pretty messy because they are dealing with all makes and models of cars sold in the US. I'm not sure if it going to be worth the time and effort.

Looking for thoughts, ideas, and comments.
