Hi Alex,

Here is another possible way to handle this situation that 'might' work for you, depending on the circumstances.

Set the control source for the option group itself to the field holding the data. Set the label of each option button to the value to be stored.

Create a separate stand alone label with the more descriptive term and place it over the top of the option buttons actual label hiding it in the background.

You won't have to write any code for this to work.
