My first thought is..... when you open the ReadFlag dll file in VB (this is an ActiveX dll is it not?) does Class1 appear as a class module? Class1 is the generic name given when you start a project. In theory it sould not matter but you might try renaming your class in the class module (right click on class1....select properties... and change the name) save the proj and remake the dll file. Then go back in your createobject and make the change there.

Kind of a WAG but after all it is 3:30 in the am here on the East Coast of the U.S. and I don't have any vegimite to help me! < s >
