Speaker: Kamal Patel, Flash Creative Management, Inc.

Topic: PROGRAMMING FOR THE WIRELESS WORLD

Hope everyone had a great summer. I'm happy to announce that we are
beginning the new season with a return to our old meeting place and the return of Kamal Patel as guest speaker.

Following this talk you should be able to go home and write your first
application for a cell phone (if you're so inclined). In any case, the relevance of this technology is clear.

Kamal's talk will focus on the following topics:

Current architecture and how it differs from the Internet
Programming languages available
Developing applications for cell phones, hand-held devices, etc.
A first sample application
Looking into other samples by pulling data from databases

Kamal Patel is a Senior Software Engineer at Flash Creative Management Inc. He has a degree in Computer Engineering and is a Microsoft Certified Product Specialist. Flash specializes in business process reengineering efforts and custom software solutions. Kamal also specializes in Database Applications, developing classes, customized tools and Client-Server applications. He has written articles for FoxPro Advisor and a White Paper for Microsoft.

You can reach him at kamalp@flashcreative.com.

A word about our meeting place.
-------------------------------

Fortunately, we were able to make it back to our old meeting place now
known as The Tin Alley Grill. The place has really been spruced up and is barely recognizable. The room we are meeting in is really nice. Since we are not being charged for the room, let's make sure we pay our way. I would appreciate it very much if everyone made every effort to have their meals at the meeting.

Please respond with your suggestions and comments. I can be reached at ERICHMOND@esrassociates.com

Hope to see you there.

The Tin Alley Grill is located about just East of Hackensack Ave on Route 4 on the EASTBOUND side. If travelling Eastbound on Route 4: Immediately past the Hackensack Ave North exit will be the Coach diner. The very next entrance will be The Tin Alley Grill. The restaurant is opposite the Riverside Mall which is on the Westbound side of Route 4.

When travelling Westbound, make a U-Turn at Hackensack Ave (take Hackensack Ave South exit), and get onto Route 4 West. Follow above directions.
