I have found the answer to setting Files in Windows ME. By the way, new machines are coming with ME NOW and who wants to go out and reinstall windows on many many client machines.
1. Edit System.ini
2. Under the heading [386enh] add the line:
Files= the number of files you want - 32 since Windows ME will add 32 to whatever number is there.
Change will take effect on reboot.
Now, will someone please tell me why ME has a config.sys file and then wipes it clean whenever you start up?
A problem is a problem only as long as it has a possible solution. Lacking that, it becomes a FACT!
