>Agreed - we've had so many hassles with network configuration & "P&P support" (or "not-P&P", as the case is) on NT4, it's a joke around here.

My first experience with Win2K was with Beta3 on my laptop:

I installed the OS over a clean hard drive, and all went well. It finished in about 45 minutes. I had left the pcmcia devices out for fear of them causing conflicts, or trouble with compatibility. After the OS was finished, I plugged in my modem. A small screen pops up and says 'detected new hardware...' followed by "US Robotics 56 blah blah blah- installing software". It went away, and I was done. I didn't click a single button or key. The same thing happened with my network card. Plug it in, 7.5 seconds later, its installed. After the network card was installed, I plugged in my network cable and was instantly on the internet. THAT WAS IT. I was sold on Windows 2000 before I ever really used it. And that was a Beta.
