Andrew, David,
I was surprised to find that I had access to the registry on this machine! Tech support usually locks people out of things like that.
I found that
oPillar =CREATEOBJECT("APPillar.PllrBase")
created an object for me, but I haven't made it do anything yet.
It appears that each function is a COM-type object since you have to pass the userid and password to each one.
Thanks for your help. This has been an opportunity to venture into unknown territory.
There is a nice spreadsheet import feature in Pillar and what I'll really do is put my salary budget data into the correct format and let the accountant do the import by hand once or twice a year. ;-)

PllrSrvrLib.PllrApi in the registry (run regedit and ^F or F3). This will tell you whether the DLL is registered, and if so whether that's the right clsid.
