What to do after the updating? Is it a matter of copying only the new forms, reports etc or the ones that were modified? I'm not sure about how to proceed here.

If you have made Table Structure Changes or Views. I would look at SDT. I use it to do all my udates. If you have know Table Structures Changes load your new exe..
