Additionally, if you want to be a little more agressive you could visit places like www.computerjobs.com, www.dice.com, www.monster.com and so forth.

I'd also go to www.hentzenwerke.com and purchase a copy of the "Software Developer's Guide" which is apparently out of print right now but should be reprinted later this Fall. This book is well written and should help you get a picture of most angles of consulting.

I'd also find some of the online consulting forums and 'hang out'. I don't know any names of these but someone here will pipe up and let uou know.

You could also search the message base here using the word 'consult' or 'consulting.'

Lastly, I'd start to get to know the folks here who do and have done consulting work.
