>>>Hello NT experts,
>>>
>>>The reason I trying to contact you is to get help with NT 4.0. I run it at work and it is very stable. I just bought a new machine for home with NT 4.0 preinstalled, and it crashes about 50% of the time when I access the CD-ROM or floppy drives. This is so frustrating!! I get the 'Blue Screen of Death' with all of the numbers and then the machine reboots itself. PLEASE HELP!! If you could email me with any suggestions at meyert@ibm.net, I would greatly apprecite it!! Thank you!!

This problem happened to me on a brand new Dell Demension XPSP200S. I had NT4 with SP2. SP3 fixed it. I think it was a bug in SP2. A BIOS upgrade (if such a thing existed for such a late model machine) wasn't necessary.
"It is an important and popular fact that things are not always what they seem. For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much -- the wheel, New York, wars and so on -- whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man -- for precisely the same reasons." - Douglas Adams
