Hi Bonnie....

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it.

I'm not missing the points as you suggested. I understand that there are some problems with the IRC server and I'm sure that Jason can get them fixed. My reply was to the nature, tone, and in some cases the substance of his post.

>>You seem to be missing a few key points in Jason's post.

>>1) The unmoderated aspect of the Chat can cause some problems in the scheduled lecture series. It was easier before Michel changed it.

Notice the line in my reply... "I understand and I'm sure this is frustrating..." I then went on and offered a stupid suggestion for an alternative. < s >

>>Do you see the point?

Sure do and again, I voiced that understanding. < s >

>>2) The fact that the IRC server is poorly configured leaves it and the rest >>of the UT open to security problems. This doesn't just mean that the IRC >>server could crash and bring the Chat down

I did not comment on that as I did understand what was said and had no problem with it. < s >

>>I just wanted to make it a little bit clearer to you as to why Jason, me and >>others would like the IRC server configuration changed back to the way it was.

Again, I'm grateful that you want to make things clearer for me. < s > (no sarcasm implied or intended!!!!) but I fully understood the points you have mentioned.... again.... see my words.

Had his post been in the same decent and excellent vien as your post to me I would not have responded at all. < s >

Most , if not all, of my points to Jason addressed that issue. I'm sorry that my attempts were not understood.

Again, thanks......and keep up the good work rooting for the braves! < g >
